Eyelid surgery work
The eyelid surgery, lower eyelid surgery and ptosis pages describe the practice's procedures generally; they list all three founding surgeons (Jonathan Jacobs, John Alspaugh, Michael Denk) and are not attributed to Dr. Denk individually.
- Upper blepharoplasty. Incisions placed along the natural eyelid crease; excess skin, fat and muscle removed and underlying muscle tightened before closure (source).
- Lower blepharoplasty. Incision along the lower lash line or inside the eyelid; excess fat is excised or repositioned (source).
- Both procedures "may be performed under either local or general anesthesia depending on the patient's preference and surgeon's recommendation" (eyelid-surgery page).
- Ptosis repair. Usually involves tightening the levator muscle to elevate the eyelid; for severe cases with a very weak levator muscle, the practice describes a "sling" operation using the forehead muscle to lift the eyelid (ptosis). The page lists causes treated: age-related muscle weakening, congenital weakness, trauma, neurologic disease, and complications from LASIK or cataract surgery.
- Brow lift. Listed as a separate procedure page (source).
Other procedures
The practice offers breast, body and medical spa procedures in addition to facial plastic surgery, per its before-and-after gallery categories (associatesplasticsurgery.com).
Insurance and cost
No insurance, Medicare or price statement for eyelid surgery or ptosis repair is published on the pages checked.
