- Board certification as printed: "Harvard Trained and Board Certified." The site does not name the certifying board.
- During training he took part on the plastic surgery team in two early face transplantations at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.
- He authored cosmetic plastic surgery book chapters and articles in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Annals of Plastic Surgery, and spoke at national plastic surgery meetings.
Eyelid surgery work
- Upper lid blepharoplasty. Removes excess skin and fat. Dr. Frederick tailors how much of the lateral fat pad is removed, to avoid a hollow look, and removes the medial (inner) fat pad entirely. A droopy lid with ptosis can be corrected at the same time.
- Transconjunctival blepharoplasty. Lower lid bags are removed through an incision inside the eyelid, with no external scar; when needed, a small pinch of skin is removed without altering the muscle.
- Skin-muscle blepharoplasty. For more skin laxity and fat: a skin and muscle flap is raised, fat is removed, and skin and muscle are tightened; the tarsus may also be tightened.
- Brow lift. Direct brow lift (skin excised just above the brow), temporal brow lift (incision at or inside the hairline), and microbladed brows as a nonsurgical option. A temporal brow lift can be added through a facelift incision.
- An upper eyelid lift can be done awake under local anesthesia; lower lid and brow lifts typically use light sedation or general anesthesia. Each procedure takes less than an hour.
Gallery: cases include upper and lower blepharoplasty at two months, upper blepharoplasty, lower blepharoplasty, direct brow lift with lower lid blepharoplasty in a man, and facelift with four-lid blepharoplasty (source).
Other procedures
The site offers facelift and neck lift, rhinoplasty, otoplasty, chin implants, lip augmentation and lip lift; breast augmentation, lift, reduction and revision, gynecomastia and transition top surgery; tummy tuck, liposuction, Brazilian butt lift, mommy makeover, arm, thigh and body lifts, labiaplasty, and Botox, Dysport and fillers (source).
Insurance and cost
- The eyelid page states that the cost of upper or lower blepharoplasty or brow lift varies and often excludes the operating room and anesthesia; awake procedures carry a small setup fee. No price is published (source).
- Payment by healthcare credit card is described on the financing page (financing).
- The site makes no statement about insurance or Medicare coverage.
Recovery
- Post-operative pain is typically minimal; bruising and swelling are common because the eyelid tissues are thin (source).
- About 2 weeks of visible downtime, with some swelling beyond that.
- The final result takes several months.
