  • The brow lift page states he served 20 years as a facial trauma surgeon in Ventura County (brow lift).

Eyelid surgery work

  • Upper eyelid surgery. The incision is made in the natural crease with an Ellman radiofrequency microneedle instead of a scalpel; excess skin, and fat if present, is removed and the crease is redefined. He uses magnification loupes for all cosmetic surgery.
  • Lower eyelid surgery. Fat is most often removed through the inside of the eyelid, with no external incision and often no stitches. He often adds fat grafting to the lower lid, which the site states is at no additional cost.
  • Skin pinch. For crinkled lower lid skin, a conservative skin pinch through a mini incision hidden under the lash line.
  • Surgery takes one to two hours in the Ventura outpatient surgery center under IV sedation with local anesthesia. Lower lid surgery can be combined with laser resurfacing or a chemical peel.
  • Brow lift. He performs a temporal brow lift, for patients who mainly need the brows raised, and a mini-open brow lift, for drooping brows and forehead wrinkles. Each takes about one hour under sedation (brow lift).

Galleries: the eyelid surgery gallery shows 15 patients and the brow lift gallery shows five.

The site has no page for ptosis repair, double eyelid surgery, canthoplasty or revision eyelid surgery.

Other procedures

The site offers facelift, neck lift, rhinoplasty, chin surgery, cheek and temporal implants, buccal fat removal, lip lift, facial fat grafting, facial feminization surgery, laser resurfacing, chemical peels, fillers and PRP hair restoration (source).

Insurance and cost

  • Insurance may cover upper blepharoplasty only when drooping skin measurably interferes with the visual field. Carriers usually require a formal visual field test, eyelid photographs and pre-authorization.
  • Lower eyelid surgery for under-eye bags is "considered cosmetic in essentially all cases" and is not covered.
  • Deductibles, copays and out-of-network rules still apply. Staff help with plan requirements; financing is offered for the cosmetic portion.
  • The site publishes no prices and offers a free consultation.

Recovery

  • Return to work in about one week.
  • Days 1 to 3: swelling and bruising peak.
  • Days 4 to 7: upper lid sutures typically removed.
  • Week 2: vigorous exercise, lifting and swimming can generally resume with clearance.
  • Weeks 3 to 6: remaining swelling settles.
  • Months 3 to 6: upper lid incision lines fade.
  • Brow lift recovery is about five to seven days (brow lift).
