Eyelid surgery work
- Upper blepharoplasty. Overhanging skin is removed through an incision placed along the natural upper eyelid crease; excess fat behind the upper eyelid muscle can be removed through the same incision. The page notes that upper lid hooding can block peripheral vision.
- Lower blepharoplasty. With excess skin and fat, the incision is made at the lower eyelash line. When skin excess is minimal, he uses a transconjunctival blepharoplasty with the incision hidden inside the lower lid.
- Lateral canthopexy. Used for lower lids with scleral show or poor muscle tone, and in revision lower eyelid surgery after excess skin removal produced a rounded eye.
- Quad blepharoplasty. Upper and lower lids in one operation with one recovery.
- Adjuncts. Fat grafting to the nasojugal groove, hyaluronic acid fillers, mid-face vertical lift, CO2 or erbium laser resurfacing, and Botox to reshape the lateral brow.
- Most procedures are performed under local anesthesia with intravenous sedation; an upper lid lift takes about 1 hour, about double for upper and lower together.
- Brow lift. Traditional (open) brow lift through a scalp incision, endoscopic brow lift through small scalp incisions, or a hairline incision for a long forehead (source).
Galleries: eyelid surgery, upper blepharoplasty (11 patient cases), lower blepharoplasty, quad blepharoplasty and brow lift.
