Eyelid surgery work

  • Upper eyelid lift. Small incisions follow the natural lines of the eyelids and may extend slightly into laugh lines. Dr. Ganchi conceals the incision in the natural upper eyelid fold and removes excess skin and fatty tissue (eyelid lift).
  • Lower eyelid lift. An incision is often placed below the lower lashes; excess skin, muscle and fat are removed, and fat may be redistributed to eliminate puffy bulges.
  • Candidates listed on the page include people with loose or baggy skin above or below the eyes, fatty deposits around the eyes, and impaired vision due to excess skin.
  • The operation is outpatient. Most patients have deep sedation with local anesthesia; some prefer general anesthesia. Patients usually go home the same day, with an overnight stay when several procedures are combined.
  • Eyelid lift may be combined with facelift, brow lift or neck lift.
  • Brow lift. The site describes three approaches: coronal (incision behind the hairline), pre-trichial (zigzag incision on or behind the hairline, which does not move the hairline back) and midforehead crease. Local anesthesia with sedation is typical. Most patients resume normal activities in a couple of weeks (brow lift).
  • Corrugator resection. Removes the muscle between the eyebrows that forms "11" lines and may be used for some migraine patients; often combined with upper blepharoplasty (corrugator resection).

Galleries:

  • Eyelid lift: several pages of cases. One case describes upper and lower eyelid lift with fat harvested from the abdomen and injected into the lower eyelid hollows (source; case).
  • Eyelid lift for men (source).

Other procedures

The site lists rhinoplasty, facelift, neck lift, neck liposuction, otoplasty, chin and cheek implants, fat injection and buccal fat removal; breast and body surgery; hair transplantation; and non-surgical treatments including Botox, fillers and IPL photofacial (ganchi.com).

Insurance and cost

  • "The cost of cosmetic plastic surgery procedures is not covered by health insurance plans." Financing is offered through CareCredit (new patients).
  • The site publishes no eyelid surgery prices. Brow lift cost depends on anesthesia fees, surgery time and technique (brow lift).
  • Online consultations are offered for patients from outside New Jersey (surgery center).

Recovery

  • A close friend or family member must drive the patient to and from the surgery center and provide care for the first 24 to 48 hours after eyelid surgery (eyelid lift).
