Eyelid surgery work
- Eyelid lift. The page lists the concerns treated: loose upper lid skin, upper lid skin that impairs vision, upper lid fat, lower lid droop showing white below the iris, and lower lid skin and fine wrinkles (source).
- Upper lid: an incision in the natural crease to remove excess tissue and fat.
- Lower lid: an incision inside the lid to remove tissue and modify muscle, with removed tissue sometimes redistributed; or an incision just below the lash line to remove skin. Laser resurfacing may be added for lower lid skin.
- The practice blog states blepharoplasty is outpatient, under local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia, and generally takes 2 to 3 hours. It describes upper lid skin that blocks the upper visual field as a functional reason for surgery (blog post).
- Brow lift. Done through small incisions in the hairline, through the natural crease of each upper eyelid, or, for significant forehead skin excess, through a wide incision across the top of the scalp (source).
Gallery: the practice's page shows three eyelid and brow cases, all credited to Dr. O'Neill: quad blepharoplasty with browlift; quad blepharoplasty and browlift with fat grafting to the midface; and lower eye lift with neck lift and lower facelift (source).
Other procedures
The site also lists rhinoplasty, neck lift, facelift, chin implant and earlobe repair; breast augmentation, lift, reduction, reconstruction and implant exchange; tummy tuck, liposuction, Brazilian butt lift and thigh lift; and med spa services including CO2 laser, Morpheus8, fillers and neurotoxins.
Insurance and cost
The site states nothing about insurance or Medicare coverage for eyelid surgery and publishes no prices. The financing page lists Cherry and CareCredit (source).
Recovery
- Bruising: subsides in 5 to 10 days (source).
- Swelling: subsides in 2 to 4 weeks.
- Final result: may appear in 1 to 2 months; incision lines fade over a year.
- Back to work: most patients return to work and light activity within seven to ten days (blog post).
- Exercise: strenuous exercise restricted for about three to four weeks.
