Eyelid surgery work

  • Blepharoplasty can include removing excess skin, tightening eyelid muscles and reducing or repositioning fat, and is often done with lid tightening (canthopexy) or skin resurfacing.
  • Upper eyelid surgery removes excess skin and sometimes fat through an incision in the natural crease.
  • Lower eyelid surgery removes or redistributes fat to treat puffiness and bags; incisions go just below the lash line or inside the lower lid (transconjunctival approach).
  • Procedures take about 1 to 3 hours. Visual field testing may be ordered at consultation to assess functional limits from sagging eyelids.
  • Eyelid surgery may be combined with a facelift or brow lift.
  • Brow lift. The incision is hidden just behind the hairline, or the operation is done endoscopically through small incisions (brow lift).
  • His bio also lists the Monarch Mini-Facelift as an in-office local anesthesia procedure, and reconstruction of skin cancer defects of the face and facial fractures.
