Eyelid surgery work

  • Types. The site lists upper blepharoplasty for drooping skin over the eyes, lower blepharoplasty for under-eye puffiness, and quad blepharoplasty for upper and lower lids in one appointment.
  • Upper eyelids. Dr. Davoudi makes an incision along the eyelid crease, removes excess skin and fat, tightens underlying muscle if needed, and sutures the incision.
  • Lower eyelids. The incision is placed inside the lower eyelid (transconjunctival) or just below the lash line (subciliary) to remove excess fat. Surgery takes 1 to 2 hours depending on type.
  • Consultation. Dr. Davoudi reviews medical history, examines the eyes and performs a vision test. Patients with glaucoma or a detached retina are asked to see their ophthalmologist first.
  • Preparation. Blood thinners stop 1 to 2 weeks before surgery; smokers stop 6 weeks before.
  • Brow lift. The brow lift page describes a coronal incision behind the hairline for most patients, a hairline incision for a high or receding hairline, a mid-scalp incision for bald patients, and an endoscopic method with minimal incisions. Brow lift may be combined with eyelid surgery or facelift (source).

Galleries: the blepharoplasty gallery shows before-and-after eyelid photographs over two pages (source). A brow lift gallery is also posted (source). The site has no ptosis muscle repair or canthoplasty page.

Other procedures

The site offers breast augmentation, lift and reduction, gynecomastia, liposuction, tummy tuck, Brazilian butt lift, arm lift, facelift, rhinoplasty and med spa services (source).

Insurance and cost

  • The eyelid page states cost depends on the type of surgery, with an all-inclusive quote for combined procedures. The site publishes no price (source).
  • The practice FAQ states insurance covers some procedures, such as lesion removal and medically necessary breast reduction, and that the office follows up with insurers. It does not name eyelid surgery (faq).
  • The eyelid page cites a study stating 70% of blepharoplasties were performed for functional reasons.

Recovery

  • Dressings and cold compresses are applied after surgery; rest during the first week, with the head elevated.
  • Strenuous activity and heavy lifting wait until cleared.
  • Back to work: recovery takes about 2 weeks, after which patients can return to work.
  • Swelling: lasts up to three weeks, after which final results show.
