Eyelid surgery work
Per the eyelid surgery page:
- Upper eyelid surgery. Incisions sit in the natural upper lid creases. Excess skin is removed, the remaining skin is lifted and repositioned, and incisions are closed with fine sutures.
- Lower eyelid surgery. The incision is placed below the lower lashes or inside the eyelid, depending on the operation. Excess fat, skin and muscle are removed.
- Anesthesia is local with sedation or general. Most procedures take one to two hours.
- Patients prone to dry eyes or vision problems are evaluated with an ophthalmologist before surgery.
- Blepharoplasty is offered with facelift, neck lift, brow lift, fillers and injectables.
The eyelid gallery holds two before-and-after cases.
Other procedures
The brow lift page lists four techniques: the classic (coronal) brow lift with an incision behind the hairline from ear to ear; the endoscopic brow lift through small scalp incisions with anchor fixation; the forehead shortening brow lift with a hairline incision that lowers the hairline; and a minimal access brow lift through upper eyelid incisions, combined with upper blepharoplasty. The site also offers facelift, neck lift, breast and body surgery.
Insurance and cost
- When drooping upper eyelids impair vision, blepharoplasty can be covered in part by insurance; Dr. Repta provides documentation for insurance purposes if applicable (eyelid surgery).
- The site publishes no blepharoplasty price.
- Brow lift with an incision at the eyebrow border: $6,000 to $10,000. Brow lift with incisions in the hairline: $15,000 to $20,000 (brow lift).
Recovery
Per the eyelid surgery page:
- Swelling and mild bruising around the incisions; some tearing or dryness, eased with ointment or drops.
- Temporary blurred vision from the ointment.
- Most patients recover within one to two weeks.
