Eyelid surgery work
- Upper blepharoplasty. Incisions are placed along the natural eyelid crease; excess skin is trimmed, fat is removed or repositioned, and the underlying muscle may be tightened before closure with small sutures. The page lists improved peripheral vision when excess skin blocks sight (source).
- Lower blepharoplasty. An incision is made below the lash line or inside the lower eyelid; excess fat, muscle and sagging skin are removed or redistributed to smooth the under-eye area (source).
- Transconjunctival approach. An internal incision inside the lower eyelid leaves no visible external scar (source).
- Surgery is performed under general anesthesia or local anesthesia with sedation. Patients may receive specialized lenses to protect the eyes from light in early recovery.
- Brow lift. The coronal brow lift removes excess forehead skin and repositions underlying muscle and tissue (source); the hairline brow lift repositions or reduces forehead surface area (source).
Galleries: eyelid before and after and brow lift before and after.
