Eyelid surgery work
- Blepharoplasty. The eyelid page describes removing excess skin from the upper or lower eyelids. It lists hooded eyes, sagging upper eyelids, drooping lower eyelids, bags under the eyes and an outer eye corner lower than the inner corner (source).
- Upper eyelid: a small incision along the natural crease removes extra skin, moves fat and tightens muscle. Lower eyelid: an incision below the lower lash line; the page calls this more invasive and usually done with IV sedation.
- Anesthesia: local anesthesia in the office, or IV sedation or general anesthesia.
- The page states that drooping upper eyelids are sometimes caused by a sagging brow, in which case a brow lift may work better; patients with a lot of extra skin may have both.
- Brow lift. Performed through small scalp incisions, less than 1 inch long, with an endoscope, under IV sedation given by a board-certified anesthesiologist. The technique adds upper mid-face deep plane lifting. The procedure takes about two hours (source).
- Galleries. The eyelid gallery shows upper blepharoplasty cases, some combined with facelift and fat grafting (eyelid before and after). The brow lift gallery shows endoscopic brow lift cases, some with facial fat transfer (brow lift before and after).
Other procedures
The site also lists facelift, neck lift, rhinoplasty, otoplasty, facial implants, fat transfer, lip lift and laser skin resurfacing; breast augmentation, lift, reduction and gynecomastia; tummy tuck, liposuction, body lift, arm and thigh lift, and Brazilian butt lift; and Botox and fillers (cosmeticsurg.net).
Insurance and cost
The site makes no statement about insurance or Medicare coverage for eyelid surgery. It publishes prices:
- Eyelid page, 2024 price table: upper eyelid surgery under local anesthesia $3,000; under IV sedation $4,100 (source).
- Cost page, 2026: Upper Blepharoplasty $3,000 to $4,100; Lower Blepharoplasty $4,100; Endoscopic Brow lift $5,800. The page states these costs include the surgeon fee, operating room fee, anesthesiologist fee and post-op office visits (source).
- Financing is offered through several finance companies (financing).
Recovery
From the eyelid page (source):
- Cold compresses for swelling in the first few days; head raised during sleep for the first week.
- No driving for 3 to 4 days; at least 7 days off work.
- Bruising may last up to 10 days; swelling can last up to 4 months.
Brow lift: most patients go home 1 to 2 hours after surgery, return the next day for bandage removal, and go back to work in 1 week with makeup or 2 weeks when most bruising is gone (source).
