Eyelid surgery work
- Upper eyelid surgery. Removes excess skin, fat and muscle; can improve vision when sagging skin blocks the line of sight. The incision follows the natural eyelid crease.
- Lower eyelid surgery. Treats puffiness, dark circles and excess skin or fat. Incisions are placed below the lower lash line or inside the lower lid (transconjunctival).
- Anesthesia: local anesthetic or sedation. Surgery takes 1 to 2 hours depending on whether both lids are treated; outpatient.
- Candidates are typically at least 35 years old or have hereditary eyelid issues. Eyelid surgery can be combined with a facelift, brow lift or laser skin resurfacing.
- Brow or forehead lift. Incisions along the hairline or in natural forehead creases; the muscles that cause forehead wrinkles are repositioned and excess skin may be removed. Sutures are removed at a follow-up visit (source).
Gallery: the eyelid surgery gallery shows 19 cases labeled by case number; cases do not name which of the two surgeons operated (source). The site has no brow lift gallery and no page for ptosis repair or double eyelid surgery.
