Eyelid surgery work
- Upper blepharoplasty. The incision follows the natural upper lid crease. Excess skin, muscle and fat are removed depending on each case, and the incisions are closed with a fine suturing technique.
- Lower blepharoplasty. The incision is usually placed under the lash line and laterally in the smile creases of the lower lid. Excess fat, muscle or skin is conservatively removed, trimmed or repositioned. When lower lid bags are mainly due to fat, a transconjunctival blepharoplasty with an incision inside the lower eyelid may be used.
- Ptosis. The page lists eyelid ptosis (droopy eyelids) as a condition that "can be repaired at the time of blepharoplasty."
- The outpatient procedure usually takes 1 to 2 hours, longer when droopy eyelid repair or multiple lid surgery is done in the same setting. The page states some patients later choose revision eyelid surgery.
- Brow lift. Performed as outpatient surgery at an accredited hospital or facility under IV sedation or general anesthesia, taking about 1.5 to 2 hours. Techniques named: open brow lift, lateral temporal brow lift, limited incision brow lift and endoscopic brow lift. Incisions are placed in the hair, hairline or occasionally the eyebrow (source).
