Eyelid surgery work
- Blepharoplasty is performed in an outpatient setting under local anesthesia.
- Upper blepharoplasty. Small incisions; excess skin is removed along with muscle and fat if needed.
- Lower blepharoplasty. Usually removal of fat, described as the main cause of under-eye bags. The incision may be on the inside of the eyelid or on the outside below the lashes.
- Asian eyelid surgery. The page lists double eyelid surgery.
- Concerns treated: sagging eyelids, vision blocked by a drooping lid, and wrinkles around the eyes. Most patients are over 35. The page states people with glaucoma, dry eyes, hypertension, low tear production, thyroid problems or diabetes should not have the procedure.
- Combined procedures named on the page: rhinoplasty and deep plane facelift.
- Forehead lift. Open (classic, coronal or trichophytic) or endoscopic technique; incisions are usually in the scalp, and in some cases in the forehead or upper eyelids. Brow lifts are usually combined with blepharoplasty and facelift (source).
