Eyelid surgery work
- Blepharoplasty. The overview page lists four types: upper, lower, Asian (double eyelid surgery) and ptosis surgery, which tightens the muscle that raises a drooping eyelid. For the lower lid, an incision is placed just under the lash line to remove fatty tissue, and the skin is lifted. The page gives a procedure time of up to two hours and a recovery time of two to three weeks (blepharoplasty).
- Upper eyelid surgery. Dr. Garcia makes a pair of incisions around the excess skin, matched to the natural folds of the eye; underlying fat is repositioned or removed. The procedure takes about an hour and general anesthesia is typically used (source).
- Lower eyelid surgery. An incision along the natural creases of the lid, repositioning or removal of fat, and removal of excess skin. Standalone lower eyelid procedures use local anesthetic; with a facelift, general anesthesia is used. Listed risks include ectropion and eye dryness (source).
- Brow lift. The page describes traditional (open), trichophytic and lateral (temporal) incisions and an endoscopic forehead lift (source).
