Eyelid surgery work
- Evaluation. The surgeons first assess whether sagging upper lids come from excess eyelid skin or a drooping brow; a drooping brow may call for an endoscopic brow lift with or without blepharoplasty (source).
- Upper eyelid surgery. The incision follows the natural upper eyelid fold and extends just past the outer corner. A strip of excess skin is removed, and fat is removed or repositioned.
- Lower eyelid surgery. The page describes a transconjunctival approach through the inside of the lid for fat removal or redistribution only; a classic incision just under the lashes for removal of skin, muscle and fat, or fat redistribution, with correction of muscle laxity; and internal incisions combined with fat grafting to blend the eyelid-cheek junction. Remaining skin can be treated with a skin-only excision or skin resurfacing.
- Brow lift. Traditional and endoscopic approaches; the outpatient procedure takes about 45 minutes to an hour and a half, and can be combined with eyelid surgery (source).
