Eyelid surgery work
The oculoplastics page lists these conditions and treatments (source):
- Dermatochalasis (upper eyelid skin). Excess skin is removed to lift the eyelid, improve vision and give a more alert look.
- Ptosis. Treated by tightening the muscle that lifts the eyelid so the eye opens more.
- Brow ptosis. The brows are lifted by removing extra skin and fat above the eyebrows as needed.
- Entropion and ectropion. Surgery turns an in-turned lid outward, or tightens muscles or skin to return an out-turned lower lid to position.
- Eyelid lesions. Chalazion, styes and papilloma are removed; biopsies check for cancer.
- Excess tearing. Blocked tear ducts are cleared to improve drainage.
The site has no eyelid before-and-after gallery and no pages for double eyelid surgery, canthoplasty or revision eyelid surgery.
Other procedures
The same page covers orbital tumors and cysts, thyroid eye disease, orbital fracture repair with plates and screws, enucleation, evisceration and exenteration, and Botox or Xeomin for blepharospasm, hemifacial spasm and cosmetic lines. Dr. Larochelle's bio adds fillers and cataract surgery. Maine Eye Center also offers laser vision correction, retina, cornea, pediatric and routine eye care.
Insurance and cost
The billing page states the practice's providers are in network with most major insurances and that many insurers require pre-authorization for medical services before the appointment (source). The site publishes no eyelid surgery prices and no Medicare statement specific to eyelid surgery.
