Eyelid surgery work
- Upper blepharoplasty. An incision on the natural crease of each eyelid; excess skin, fat and tissue are removed and the incision closed with sutures. Upper eyelid surgery is typically done under local anesthesia in the office (source).
- Lower blepharoplasty. An incision inside the lower eyelid; excess skin, fat and tissue are removed. A TCA peel or laser treatment may be added for crepey lower eyelid skin. Lower and combined procedures are generally done in an outpatient surgical center.
- Most eyelid procedures take place in a Bucks County or Montgomery County AAAASF-certified facility. Eyelid lifts typically take 2 hours.
- Anesthesia: local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia, depending on the case.
- Eyelid lift is most often combined with a brow lift; neuromodulators, fillers and fat transfer are also listed.
- Eyelid surgery for men. Upper surgery removes skin and tightens muscle; lower surgery removes or repositions fat and tightens loose skin (source).
- Brow lift. Incision within the hair-bearing scalp, endoscopic approach through three short incisions, or lateral brow lift through a temple incision. General or twilight anesthesia; about one hour (source).
