Eyelid surgery work
- Transconjunctival blepharoplasty. For patients concerned about fat pockets beneath the lower eyelids who do not need skin removed; incision made inside the lower eyelid (source).
- Traditional upper and lower blepharoplasty. Incisions in the natural creases of the upper lids or below the lashes of the lower lids, extending into crow's feet or laugh lines at the outer corners of the eyes; excess skin and fat separated from underlying muscle and sutured closed (source).
- Brow lift. Three techniques: classic/coronal (ear-to-ear incision near the hairline), endoscopic (small hairline incisions with scope guidance, Dr. Mabourakh's preferred current technique), and temporal (shorter incisions without a scope) (source).
Other procedures
The practice also offers facelift, rhinoplasty, chin implants, breast augmentation/lift/reduction/reconstruction, body contouring (liposuction, tummy tuck, arm/thigh lift, mommy makeover), labiaplasty, procedures for men, and med spa/non-surgical treatments (psaf.com).
Insurance and cost
No insurance or Medicare coverage statements for eyelid surgery are published. The practice's page states cost varies by anesthesia fees, incision technique and extent of correction, with an estimate given at consultation; the practice's page states similarly that cost depends on technique and is quoted at consultation.
Recovery (eyelid surgery): swelling and bruising occur around the eyes and resolve after a few weeks, aided by cold compress and head elevation; patients return to work one week after surgery; strenuous activity avoided for at least two weeks (source).
