Eyelid surgery work
- Upper blepharoplasty. Removes hooding skin over the crease; functional when it obstructs the superior visual field, cosmetic otherwise; incision hidden in the eyelid crease (blepharoplasty).
- Lower blepharoplasty. Reduces under-eye bags and crepey skin via transconjunctival or transcutaneous incision (blepharoplasty).
- Four-lid blepharoplasty. Combined upper and lower surgery in one session (blepharoplasty).
- Asian blepharoplasty. Double-eyelid surgery creating or refining a defined upper-lid crease (blepharoplasty).
- Ptosis repair. Matched to levator function: levator advancement/resection for fair-to-good function; Muller's-muscle conjunctival resection (MMCR, no external scar) for mild ptosis with a positive phenylephrine test; frontalis sling for poor levator function, including most severe congenital cases (ptosis).
- Ectropion repair. Lateral canthoplasty or tarsal strip procedure for the common involutional type; full-thickness skin graft for cicatricial ectropion from scarring; gold weight implant or lower lid sling for paralytic ectropion (source).
- Entropion repair. Addresses horizontal lid laxity from canthal tendon stretching (source).
Other procedures
The site also covers blepharospasm treatment, congenital eyelid conditions, lacrimal (tear duct) system surgery, skin rejuvenation and eyelid skin tumor removal (services menu).
Insurance and cost
Functional upper-lid blepharoplasty "may be covered when a visual-field test confirms that hooding skin obstructs the superior field," with the office documenting this and seeking pre-authorization; when blepharoplasty is combined with ptosis repair, the skin portion is billed as cosmetic even if the ptosis repair is covered (blepharoplasty). Ptosis repair is "often covered by insurance with prior authorization and photographs" when a visual-field test documents obstruction (ptosis). Cosmetic blepharoplasty is described as an out-of-pocket expense that "varies with geography, the surgeon's experience... and facility and anesthesia fees," with no specific price stated on the pages reviewed.
