Eyelid surgery work
- Blepharoplasty. The eyelid page describes removing excess skin and fat from the upper eyelids, lower eyelids or both; on the lower eyelids it can resolve bags under the eyes (source).
- The page states drooping or sagging eyelids could affect vision.
- Patients with chronic dry eye, glaucoma or another eye condition should get permission from their ophthalmologist first.
- On the day of surgery the eyelids are cleansed and local anesthesia is given by syringe. The surgeon removes excess skin from the upper or lower eyelids and pulls the remaining skin into place. Surgery typically takes one to three hours.
- Scars are hidden in the natural creases of the eyelid.
- An eyelid lift is often performed with a facelift or mini facelift.
- Brow lift. Tiny incisions along the hairline under local anesthesia; forehead tissue is lifted, secured with sutures, and excess skin is trimmed. Most take one to two hours. The page states results can last 10, 15 or even 20 years (source).
The practice's page shows Botox, laser, IPL, vein, liposuction and body lift cases, with no eyelid or brow cases (source).
Other procedures
The facial surgery menu lists facelift, mini facelift, neck lift, lip augmentation, otoplasty and rhinoplasty (facialSurgService). The practice also offers breast and body surgery, skin cancer, breast and hand reconstruction, and medical spa treatments.
Insurance and cost
The insurance page states that "some cosmetic surgeries may be covered by medical insurance" but most patients pay out of pocket. The practice accepts cash, money order, personal check, cashier's check, major credit cards and CareCredit financing (pg/insuranceFinancing). The eyelid page states exact cost is discussed after the consultation; the site publishes no prices.
Recovery
- Upper eyelid lift: firmer, more uplifted eyes are visible right away.
- Lower eyelid lift: it could take a few days for swelling to go down.
- After surgery patients may feel tired, may need sunglasses outdoors, and may have mild headaches treated with acetaminophen or ibuprofen.
