Eyelid surgery work
From the blepharoplasty page, which names Dr. Minton as the surgeon:
- Upper blepharoplasty. Excess skin and fat are removed to reduce hooding.
- Lower blepharoplasty. Under-eye bags are treated by repositioning or removing excess fat and tightening the surrounding skin.
- Ptosis repair. Done under local anesthesia with only minimal IV sedation, because the surgeon needs to judge how far to lift the lid. Any brow elevation is done first. An upper lid incision is made and the lifting muscle is identified and tightened. The patient sits upright during surgery so lid position can be checked against gravity and adjusted. Loose skin is excised and the incision is closed with small dissolvable sutures.
- Brow lift. Endoscopic technique with small incisions in the hairline; Dr. Minton uses tiny sutures or dissolvable anchors to set brow height, under local anesthesia with IV sedation or general anesthesia. Surgery takes 1 to 2 hours; the page states results can last 10 to 15 years (brow lift).
