Eyelid surgery work
- Upper blepharoplasty. Done under local anesthesia or twilight sleep. Excess skin is removed through an incision planned to fall in the natural upper eyelid crease; fat and muscle are reduced through the same incision, which is closed with self-absorbing sutures. Removed fat can be grafted to the tear troughs, and the lower eyelids can be tightened through the upper incision (source).
- Lower blepharoplasty. Incision just under the eyelash line. For skin alone, excess skin is removed; for fat and muscle sagging, the skin and muscle layers are opened, under-eye fat is reduced or moved into the tear trough, and the eyelid and muscle are tightened. The page also describes lower eyelid procedures with no skin incision and cheek lifting combined with lower blepharoplasty (source).
- Brow lift. A 1 to 1.5 inch incision at the hairline or in the hair (subcutaneous or lateral brow lift); a forehead lift uses a longer incision hidden in the hair (source).
Galleries: 6 blepharoplasty cases (source) and brow lift and forehead cases (source).
Other procedures
The practice offers facelift, neck lift, mid-face lift, rhinoplasty, facial implants, otoplasty, facial feminization surgery, hair transplant and revision facial plastic surgery (source).
Insurance and cost
- The site makes no statement about insurance or Medicare coverage for eyelid surgery and publishes no prices.
- Financing through Cherry, CareCredit and Alphaeon Credit (source).
Recovery
- Swelling: generally one to two weeks; ice for three to seven days (source).
- Back to everyday activities: three to four days for most patients.
- Exercise: strenuous activity after two to three weeks; after three weeks for brow lift.
- Sutures: self-absorbing, not removed.
- Final result: removed eyelid skin and fat do not return; the site calls the results permanent.
