Eyelid surgery work
- Upper blepharoplasty. Through incisions hidden in the natural crease of the upper eyelid, the surgeon removes loose or excess tissue, including fat. The page lists improved line of sight when excess skin drapes over the eyelashes.
- Lower blepharoplasty. Incisions along the eyelashes or inside the lower eyelid; excess tissue is removed and fatty tissue repositioned or removed. The patient's own fat can replace lost volume.
- Upper and lower eyelid surgery together lasts about 2 hours. The page states upper eyelid results last 5 to 7 years and lower eyelid results are mostly permanent.
- Consultation covers eyelid skin, fat, brow position, under-eye contour and vision concerns.
Gallery: the blepharoplasty gallery credits three cases to Dr. Vinay Gundlapalli (upper eyelid lift, and upper eyelid lift with full neck lift) and one combined facial case to Dr. Sean Bidic; a transconjunctival lower lid case is uncredited (source).
Other procedures
- Brow lift. Dr. Bidic and Dr. Gundlapalli perform an open brow lift with staples in the hair and an overnight drain; upper eyelid surgery may be added (source).
- His listed interests: microvascular, implant-based and prepectoral breast reconstruction; facelift, neck lift, rhinoplasty, abdominoplasty, body contouring; craniofacial trauma; hand surgery; complex wounds; transgender procedures (source).
Insurance and cost
- The practice "accepts all Horizon plans except Horizon Medicare Blue and Horizon NJ Health" and is Tier 1 for Omnia patients. It sees patients with out of network benefits (source).
- The site makes no eyelid-specific coverage statement and publishes no prices.
Recovery
- Swelling, bruising, light sensitivity, dry eyes or irritation in the first 1 to 2 weeks; sleep with the head elevated and use cold compresses (blepharoplasty).
- Back to work: after two weeks for most patients.
- Final result: about six weeks; incision lines usually fade within 4 to 6 months.
- Brow lift: staples removed after 2 weeks; no lifting over 5 to 10 pounds for 3 weeks (source).
