Eyelid surgery work
- Upper blepharoplasty. The incision sits in the natural upper lid crease; excess skin and, when appropriate, a small amount of fat are removed or repositioned. The operation takes about one hour under local anesthesia with light sedation (blepharoplasty, upper blepharoplasty).
- Lower blepharoplasty. Most cases use a transconjunctival incision inside the lower lid. A subciliary incision below the lash line is used when significant skin removal is needed. The site states a preference for fat repositioning into the tear trough over simple removal. Surgery takes one to two hours under local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia (lower blepharoplasty).
- Combined upper and lower surgery takes two to three hours.
- Functional eyelid surgery. The functional eyelid page covers upper lid surgery for ptosis and obstructed vision.
- Asian eyelid surgery. The double eyelid page describes creating an upper eyelid crease.
- She refers patients to an ophthalmologist when ocular health concerns need treatment first.
Galleries show eyelid, Asian blepharoplasty and brow lift before-and-after cases.
Other procedures
The brow lift and endoscopic brow lift pages describe incisions under one inch behind the hairline with an endoscope, under local anesthesia and IV sedation. The site also offers rhinoplasty, facelift, neck lift, hair and eyebrow transplant, injectables and lasers.
Insurance and cost
- Upper blepharoplasty may be covered by insurance when upper lid skin obstructs the visual field; the team assists with pre-authorization. Lower blepharoplasty is considered cosmetic and not typically covered (blepharoplasty).
- Upper blepharoplasty: starting cost $7,500 (upper).
- Lower blepharoplasty: starting cost $11,000 (lower).
- Brow lift: $6,000 to $10,000, including surgeon, facility and anesthesia fees (brow lift).
Recovery
- Bruising and swelling: first one to two weeks; most visible signs resolved by two to three weeks (blepharoplasty).
- Back to work: within 10 to 14 days on the main page; one week for lower eyelid surgery on the lower blepharoplasty page.
- Final result: four to six weeks, with continued improvement over several months.
- Upper blepharoplasty: bruising subsides within three to seven days; no strenuous activity for one week (upper).
