Blepharoplasty removes or repositions tissue on the upper eyelid, the lower eyelid or both. Upper blepharoplasty removes excess upper-lid skin, with or without a strip of muscle and fat (PMID 40152471); lower blepharoplasty removes or repositions the fat that bulges under the eye (PMID 37531619). A brow lift raises a low or heavy eyebrow. The endoscopic method works through a few short scalp incisions and a camera, without an ear-to-ear incision, and weakens the muscles that pull the brows down (PMID 7972423). It was the most frequent brow lift technique in American Society of Plastic Surgeons member surveys from 2000 and 2020 (PMID 37409963).
